PSHE encompasses all areas designed to promote children’s personal, social and health development. It gives children the knowledge, skills and understanding that they need to stay healthy and safe, develop worthwhile relationships, respect differences, develop independence and responsibility, make the most of their own abilities and those of others. It is very closely linked with S.E.A.L and encompasses our work within Citizenship, Values Education and National Healthy Schools Status.

Cross Curricular links
Links are made with PSHE and Citizenship in other curriculum areas as appropriate e.g. R.E., P.E., science, geography and in topic planning. Also in whole school events such as Walk to School Week, Road Safety Week and Healthy Schools Week.

We encourage children to travel to school with their parents or carers on foot by bike or scooter and have made provision on the school grounds for safe storage of these items. We actively promote this through initiatives such as Walk to School Week and The Big Pedal.

For those that absolutely need to drive we encourage lift sharing. The following link helps match sharers and lifts.

Central Bedfordshire Council provide details and information about their Travel Choices Project on their website covering bus routes cycling information and initiatives to support residents travel by alternative means to the car, an Active Travel Map which can be viewed on their website by following the highlighted links.
