Admissions to Main School - Reception Year

The law states that a child must start school in the year in which he/she turns five.  Reception is the name given to that first year in school.  Central Bedfordshire Council will notify you in writing the year before your child turns five with instructions on how to apply for a place at school.

The admissions process is managed by Central Bedfordshire Council’s School Admissions Team using the published admissions criteria which can be accessed at

Please be aware that a place in our Pre-school and/or Nursery does not guarantee a place in Main School.
